The Miami Jewish Film Festival is now entering its second week with more exciting film premieres to come! Visit the Festival Page to search the roster of films and plot your itinerary for the week ahead: January 20-25.
Don't forget to visit the VIRTUAL FESTIVAL where you can access films such as Seven Days in Silence about the experience and benefits of going on a silent (Jewish) retreat or Shmoozing and Cruising that features outstanding kosher food (including Miami favorite Bambu Pan Asian, run by a Hebrew-speaking Vietnamese couple!).
Here are some highlights from the past week:
Opening Night: Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner welcomed an audience of more than 700 attendees to the 2024 Festival, followed by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava presenting the Festival with a Proclamation, officially declaring January 11 as "Miami Jewish Film Festival Day!"
The Sunny Isles Children’s Choir also performed a very meaningful rendition of "Hatikva" in support of Israel.

On Saturday night, more than 350 people attended the sold out premiere of "Seven Blessings," Israel's official Oscar entry.
To honor the victims and acknowledge the ongoing tragedy in Israel, several seats are intentionally left empty at each screening with pictures of one of the hostages attached.
Each vacant seat serves as a powerful and solemn reminder of those Israelis who have yet to be reunited with their families.
The Sunday showcase featured five screenings that included rush lines buzzing with excitement and a total of a whopping 2,500 attendees, setting a new single-day attendance record!
The world premiere of local author Genie Milgrom's fascinating film Between the Stone and the Flower (featured in Diario Las Americas) and 999: The Forgotten Girls of the Holocaust with director Heather Dune Macadam drew sold-out crowds, while the near-capacity showing of My Daughter My Love featured a special video message from legendary Israeli actor Sasson Gabay.
The premiere of Fioretta, featured the sensational Amernet String Quartet as well as producer and film subject Randy Schoenberg, a lawyer specializing in legal cases related to the recovery of artworks looted by the Nazis during the Holocaust.
A huge shout out to the dynamic audience who packed the venue to the brim, creating an electric atmosphere that made the night truly unforgettable!
Paula S. Apsell's much-anticipated Resistance: They Fought Back had the O Cinema South Beach packed with eager viewers.
Over at the premiere of Not Quite Kosher, German Consul General Christofer Burger kicked things off with opening remarks, setting the stage for a heartwarming comedy that instantly became a crowd favorite at the Festival.
